Top 2013 Headlines from Wallick Communities

What were the top stories at Wallick Communities in 2013? Here’s a quick recap.

1.  Development posts .714 LIHTC batting average
Wallick’s development team won five awards from its seven applications. The result? Residents living in 843 apartments in Ohio, Kentucky and Illinois will have their homes completely renovated! And speaking of Illinois, watch for news on what we’re doing there – and in the Windy City – coming in 2014.

2.  Asset Management division completes its first full year
This team, comprising our newest division, serves as the owner’s representative. Asset Management implemented new processes and reporting, stabilized and improved troubled assets, divested certain assets, acquired others and turned a profit in its first full year of operation.

3. Wallick expands into memory care
Our October groundbreaking of The Grove at Oakleaf Village in Toledo, OH marked Wallick’s entrance into the memory care field. This $6.3 million, state-of-the-art memory care community will open this fall with 40 units for up to 48 residents.

4. Historic and third-party projects spur Construction
Wallick Construction expanded in 2013 too. The team wrapped up three historic renovation projects late in the year for our own account, and broke ground on a key third-party project – a $10 million senior residential and health care campus in Proctorville, OH.

5. Company continues to grow
We’re proud to say that our proven performance continued in 2013 with revenue up 20% over 2012. In addition, we made investments in more than 2,000 units and added over 1,000 units in new third-party management contracts.

These successes and others continue to answer the question, “Why Wallick?” and help explain why we’re bullish about 2014 and beyond.
